To maximise availability of beneficial compounds, a dual-extract process is used to draw out the alcohol soluble and water soluble components. An even ratio of fruit body and mycelium is used to give you a full-spectrum of beneficial compounds, as some (e.g hericenones) are only found in fruit bodies while others (e.g erinacines) are only found in the mycelium.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
For daily consumption to improve overall health and wellbeing, we recommend taking 2 capsules (1.5 grams) of our Lion’s Mane extract each day.
Consumption of larger daily doses of functional mushroom extracts is considered safe and can be useful to treat more specific issues. For example, this study used a dose of 3.6 grams/day Lion’s Mane extract and found this effective for improving depression, anxiety and sleep disorders in patients.
If you are thinking of taking a larger dose than 2 capsules per day in order to treat something specific, we advise you to consult with your GP.
-
If you are taking medication, it is always advised to consult with your GP before taking a new supplement.
Lion’s Mane extracts may have an adverse effect when interacting with other medications. For example, Lion’s Mane extract helps to lower blood glucose levels. If you are already on diabetes medication, taking both could bring your blood glucose levels too low.
-
Side effects are rarely reported in scientific studies. However, as with any supplement there are occasional reactions. These side effects could include nausea, stomach pain or skin rash. It is always recommended to start with a small dose (1 capsule or a small amount of powder extract). Studies show Lion’s mane extract to be safe and well tolerated at high doses.
There is also a low risk of being allergic to Lion’s Mane to be aware of. If you have a known mushroom allergy then we advise you to not take our products.

You won’t feel the benefits immediately. It can take two weeks for the Lion’s Mane extract to be incorporated into your system - but you may feel the effects sooner. We’ve received great feedback on our Lion’s Mane extract with improvements in ADHD symptoms and brain fog soon after starting our extracts. For best results, an effective dose should be taken daily.

Currently, there are no direct studies looking at Lion’s Mane and its impact on ADHD. However, there are several ways in which Lion’s Mane may be good for those with ADHD. There are many people who take Lion’s Mane and say it helps with symptoms.
Lions mane mushrooms are a great source of L-tryptophan which is the precursor to serotonin. Regularly consuming Lion’s Mane extract, will make us better able to produce serotonin. Serotonin imbalance/deficit may play a role in ADHD. It has been found that directly consuming L-tryptophan significantly alleviates ADHD symptoms - Lions Mane extract are a great natural source of this compound.
Consuming Lion’s mane mushroom/mycelium extract has an anti-inflammatory effect and can particularly target neuroinflammation . High inflammation can predispose people to ADHD and exacerbate symptoms. Therefore, the anti-inflammatory effect of Lion’s Mane may help reduce ADHD symptoms.
Lion’s Mane is also high in antioxidants which help reduce oxidative stress in the brain and body, thereby helping with ADHD. Oxidative stress leads to inflammation which can predispose people to ADHD.
Lion’s Mane supplementation promotes the production of Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) in the brain. The release of Nerve Growth factor supports cognitive function, focus and memory as NGF promotes the growth and survival of nerve cells. Increased NGF due to Lion’s Mane supplementation may help with ADHD symptoms.
Unlike current interventions for ADHD such as Adderall, Lion’s Mane is not a stimulant as so has a less dramatic effect on mood, behaviour and energy levels. Lion’s Mane is also completely natural and evidence suggests it could be a safe, useful tool in treating ADHD.
Before starting a new protocol of Lion’s Mane supplementation, it is advised to consult your GP.
